Jenny’s birth work journey started in 2013 when she lived at a maternity center in Haiti for six months where she gained extensive knowledge from the amazing midwives, nurses, and doctor she worked with. She completed her birth doula certification through CAPPA in 2014 and also completed her training as a placenta encapsulation specialist through PBi.
She has supported a variety of births here in the states, including twin, epidural, natural, induced, home, single mom, and cesarean births.
Jenny believes that knowledge is power in birth. She is passionate about working with clients to help them understand what’s happening on the inside and out, both physically and medically. With the many decisions that arise during pregnancy and labor, parents can feel confident that they will have Jenny’s full support to keep them informed and prepared to make the best decisions for their family and achieve the birth they desire. Jenny especially enjoys involving partners with the process and physical support if they desire.
For years, Jenny has also offered photography, free of charge, for families of stillborns. She is thankful for the ability to provide families with a lasting memory of their child.
In 2018, she became a Mothership Certified Health Service Provider.
In her free time, she loves to bake, sing (while baking and doing everything else), sew, organize, long board around town with her husband, Eric, and hang out at home with their cat, Gus.
