“If you are on the fence about placenta encapsulation, DO IT!”
“My only regret is that I didn’t have you encapsulate earlier. OMG! I was sliding into a tear filled funk by Saturday..but by Monday it was like a cloud was lifting! I noticed and my husband noticed a marked difference in my mood, now he reminds me to take my pills! And my milk? It came in that Saturday and I’m already needing to freeze some because there is sooo much! I’m so happy I hired you to encapsulate my placenta!”
-Less postpartum depression & baby blues
-Less irrational thoughts
-Less postpartum bleeding
-More milk production
WHAT IS IT:
It is the Traditional Chinese Method of drying out your placenta and putting it into capsules, so it just looks like a vitamin. It is your body’s natural hormones, made by you, for you.
Your brain and body have created a new normal, functioning with your placenta for the past nine months, so what happens after you deliver your placenta? It messes with the triggers in your brain that would normally release stress relieving hormones, produce iron to help with fatigue which can lead to depression, etc. Giving your placenta back to your body, is like a cushion for the transition.
Don’t throw away your hormones, give them back to yourself along with proteins, iron and more!!!
WHAT YOU NEED TO DO:
1. BRING 2, gallon size Ziploc bags and a cooler to hospital
2. TELL care provider you want to keep it (may need to sign release form)
3. ICE placenta within 45 min. after delivery (put placenta in bags, ice in cooler from hospital and set placenta on ice)
4. CALL me 🙂
I will come to your home, ideally 1-3 days after delivery with all the supplies needed.
5. SIGN waiver: click here
It’s a two part process, part one is 1.5 hours, (then it’s in dehydrator for apx. 8 hours) then part two is 1 hour.
I would come in the morning and evening to finish it up (letting it dehydrate all day),
Or I would come in the evening and the following morning to finish it up (letting it dehydrate overnight).
Here’s some of the details that not everyone wants to know but for those that do, here you go 🙂
-prepare for dehydration
-dehydrate (8 hours)
-turn dehydrated placenta into granules
-put granules in empty vegetarian capsules
-put in jar and refrigerate
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
What if I’m told I shouldn’t keep it because…
it’s calcifying/not good/has meconium/etc.
You can always throw it away a week later, I’d love for you to check in with me, the encapsulator, to see if the reasons are legitimate because those aren’t necessarily reasons not to encapsulate.
Can I encapsulate if I do delayed cord clamping or blood banking?
YES! I remove the blood from it anyways, so that has no affect on the encapsulation process and benefits!
Can I encapsulate if I have an induction/epidural/c-section?
Do you add anything to the capsules?
No, I don’t add anything to the capsules, it’s just your entire placenta.
Will it smell?
It has it’s own scent as it’s steaming, but not before or after and it’s not bad. I steam it with ginger or myrrh in the water beneath the placenta to help it be a more pleasant aroma.
How many capsules will I receive?
Approximately 120, it depends on the size of your placenta. I could be 90 or 200
How many capsules do I take?
I will give you info before I leave your home with suggested dosage. If you take it according to that, it should last 2-3 months.
I say to start with the suggestion and take more or less depending on how you feel. The capsules expire after 5 years, so some clients take it over a year later for stressful/emotional days or for PMS and cramping.
Is it scientifically proven?
There’s not a lot of scientific research on placenta encapsulation but as you can see from the testimonials above my clients have experienced many benefits!
